Then this second in the Enthralled series could be just the book you were seeking. Over the past week I've started stepping out of my carefully constructed box. And it's a trend that has paid dividends. I will not miss out on some great stories in a series just because I couldn't get into the first book. If later I feel l must go back for background or a very crucial storyline then l have that option.
I was confused by aspects of this story. I surmised that the MC shifter was a Phoenix but was the rest of his family? They seemed more like wolf shifters but that could have just been my warped perception. See what happens when you don't start with the first book. Not that it necessarily had the answers but still...

Anyway the young shifter is sacrificing himself for his family. While very noble he is not prepared for the harsh realities of life outside the sheltered cocoon his family wrapped him up in. I fault the other MC, the older wiser vamp who could have easily given the shifter a job in his coven, but he "allowed" him to experience the harshness of the world. He could have paid someone to offer him amaze up job were he could get on his feet without being exposed to people/ situations where he'd end up having to touch someone. It was inevitable. The vampire knew the consequences of Kade's omega gift. Or maybe it was his plan all along to swoop down and rescue Kade.

Once again another story about brothers. The vampires and the shifters. The are loyal and close even though they live apart. The shifter misses his so much but out of fear will not contact them. Rorik the city leader is compliment to his brother in similar but even more violence prone city. The area between the two cities is especially dangerous, making travel to visit each other fraught with danger. But the brothers risk it in order to spend time together and help govern. Rowan, Rorik's brother found his mate in the first book so he has to be more cautious for him and their child.

Kade's omega gift seems more like a curse. Because of it he was forced to leave home, loss his first almost job, and went to jail. It caused him to be updated afraid to touch. To spend the time he wanted with his benefactor Rorik. When Rorik finally convinces him that as his Thrall his life will be so different the curse rears its ugly head.
This is one of the few times l saw paranormal beings deliberately using condoms...for all the good it did. I always enjoy male pregnancy stories and this was no exception. I thought this particular father was to be was too melodramatic and definitely endangered the life of his child. But all in all an entertaining story. I may just have to read the first book.

Kade a young shifter is sacrificing himself for his family. When he arrives at the city he is not ready for all the harsh ship which he was protect by his family back in his pack. Kade is a omega and wth that he has the powers to see the person history with a touch. Once Rorik founds out that is Kade special power he is offering him a job to help him and his brothers. Doing this time Rorik finds out that Kade is his thrall. He start slow with a courtship of his thrall. when Become pregnant Kade has vision of his and his baby death and has decide to give up.

OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE BOOK This is another awesome book in the series
