This short prequel to Contact Us is filled with the quirky surprises and humor that Al Macy's readers have come to expect. The Antiterrorist is a standalone book, with no cliffhanger or "to be continued" at the end. It may be read before or after other books in the series.

As a short story in Jake Corby's adventures (and me jumping into the middle with the free book two I acquired in one of those giveaways to promote sales), I can't expect too much background on what's going on, and the book more or less lived up to that. We're thrown into the action with Jake under enemy control. He engineers an escape, but gets injured in process. He refuses to give up on investigating things, and he completes lucks into success. One more catastrophe and no, wait, there's more catastrophe. But that's OK because this one resolves entirely without him having to do anything.Things I liked included that he took actual lasting injury in the process of getting knocked around, which was a nice dose of realism. The bits of humor were nice, including his close encounter with President Obama. And the action rolled along with getting bogged down by details. On the minus side, we get the impression that, for the most part, the protagonist excels in being in the right location for things to resolve themselves, and it's over a little too quickly.
Overall, it was well worth the price I paid for it, and it's worth its current $0.99 price tag, but it's not something I'd buy at full price.

I really enjoyed this adventure. It is great to know that there are more tales to read about this secret agent (hush). Lovely to see President Obama interpolated so well, - perfectly in character for that great man.
Well, just a good story all the way around. The small banter etc with side jokes & light moments! Great. Kept everything loose. Love that he used a real sitting President, Obama too! SS Clinton was a hoot! Looking for the next Jake Corby adventure!
I love the humor of Jake Corby, and the intelligence which authorized Macy has given him. I always love a little klutzy behavior and humor in a guy who always comes out on top on spite of it. It makes me want to cheer him on. Certainly this is an easy and a great read!
Have to catch my breath, what a ride!! I've already bought the next one and will crack it as soon as I finish this review. I literally could not put this down. Love the wise cracking, the hero is funny, smarter than your average bear, and tougher than he thinks. MORE MORE MORE!!!
I was surprised this was a longish story rather than a full-length book (probably I was not paying attention) so I was left wanting more. But that's not a bad thing, not at all. I did like all the characters, even the ones Jake vanquished, and hope one or two are resuscitated and reprised—like Twiggy. Good read and recommended.
Having been working in the government contract electronics field during the time of early development of the Atlas and space shuttle into ISS construction including the moon landings and nail biting return of #11, I keenly followed the realistic action and reactions of Jake and his supporting cast throughout the this very well written book. Now to get onto Google and search out the rest of the series and any other Sci-Fi books written by Al Macy.

Unlimited, although received free thru one of my book sites. Have read through 4 of his books today and can definitely say he is a 'strange' one, but entertaining and all that even with my higher than average bar for that {having read so many different genres and books total, so quite hard to surprise}.
